A lot of people suffer from poor gut health and do not realize that it’s more that just occasional upset stomach and accompanying bouts of diarrhea. Poor gut health can also result in unintentional weigh gain and weight loss, sleep disturbances and constant fatigue, skin irritation like eczema and other autoimmune conditions (where your body actually start attacking itself). Poor gut health can also lead to other food intolerances. If this describes you or anyone else you know, there are some things you can start doing today to help improve your gut health.
- Eat foods that are high in prebiotics and probiotics like fermented foods and drinks, cut your sugar intake, eat more vegetables and fibrous foods.
- Get enough sleep.
- Lower your stress levels. High levels of stress are not only hard on your body but they can negatively impact your gut health as well
- Stay hydrated. Drinks 6-8 glassed of water per day
- Pay attention to the foods that irritate your stomach by causing things like cramps, acid reflux, nausea, rashes, diarrhea etc … after your eat them and try to avoid these food.
- Change your diet. Some people have found that eating two to three vegetarian meals a week has vastly improved their gut health.
Just implementing these changes can start improving your gut health right away.
